We aggregate publicly available professional information about Canadian financial advisors from a variety of sources, including regulatory databases, professional designation bodies, publicly accessible websites, and professional networking platforms. This may include:

  • Regulatory registration status, licence numbers, and category of registration (CIRO, CSA registries)
  • Professional designations (e.g., CFP, CFA, CLU) and the bodies that issued them
  • Business address, phone number, and email address where publicly listed
  • Publicly available biographical and professional background information
  • Website content and social/professional profile content made publicly accessible by the advisor

We do not collect financial account information, personal tax records, private correspondence, or any information that advisors have not made publicly available in a professional context.

  • Contact information for authorized users (name, business email, job title, employer)
  • Account credentials and authentication data

Customers agree to use advisor data solely for lawful business purposes and are prohibited from using it for harassment, unsolicited bulk communications, or any purpose inconsistent with their agreement with us.

5.2 To Service Providers

We share information with third-party service providers who assist us in operating our business, including:

  • Cloud infrastructure and hosting providers
  • Payment processors
  • Analytics and monitoring tools
  • Customer relationship and communication platforms

All service providers are bound by data processing agreements and are prohibited from using information for any purpose other than providing services to Advisor411.

6.1 Financial Advisors

Advisor411 aggregates professional information that financial advisors have made publicly available in their professional capacity - including through regulatory filings, designation registries, professional profiles, and publicly accessible websites. Because this information is already in the public domain and is processed on the basis of legitimate interest for B2B intelligence purposes, advisors do not have a general right to require its removal from our platform.

Advisors may, however, contact us to:

  • Request access to the professional information we hold about them
  • Request correction of information that is factually inaccurate

To submit a request, contact us at privacy@advisor411.com. We will respond within 30 days. Correction requests will be assessed against our source data; we are not obligated to reflect changes that are not reflected in the underlying public record.

6.2 Platform Users and Customers

Authorized users of our platform may request access to or correction of their account information by contacting us directly or through in-platform settings. Customers seeking deletion of account data should contact us at the address above.

7. Data Retention

We retain advisor data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy and as required for our legitimate business operations. We periodically review and update our database and remove information that is no longer accurate or relevant.

Customer account data is retained for the duration of the customer relationship and for a period of up to seven (7) years thereafter to satisfy legal and tax obligations.

Usage logs and analytical data are retained for up to two (2) years.

8. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to:
